Planning a trip to Las Vegas? If you want space to stretch out, traveling with family or several people, and want to stay on the Las Vegas Strip, consider a suite at the Vdara Hotel & Spa at Aria Las Vegas.
You’ll have more room but the hotel doesn’t have a lot of amenities.
Great if you plan to visit restaurants at casino resorts such as Bellagio or Caesars Palace, check out the Happy Hour at The Cosmopolitan, take day trips to Seven Magic Mountains or Lake Dolores Waterpark, or plan a spa day at Canyon Ranch Spa Las Vegas or European Massage School – a favorite of frugal spa lovers.
Not so great if you want to chill and hang out at your Las Vegas hotel.
All Suite Condo Hotel
Vdara Las Vegas is an all-suite condo hotel with 1,495 suites ranging from 582 square feet to 1,750 square feet.
With a condotel like Vdara, some of the suites are privately owned and the remainder are sold as hotel rooms.
Pro-tip: Because of Vdara’s curved design, each floor has six corner suites instead of the standard four.
Vdara has a spa and salon but it is currently closed.
Vdara Studio Suite
On this Las Vegas road trip, I stayed one night at Vdara in a studio suite on the 25th floor.
Kitchenette
Depending on the size of the suite, you’ll have a kitchenette or kitchen.
In the kitchenette, you get a deep stainless steel sink, a Gaggenau two burner induction cooktop, a Bosch under counter microwave, a Bartech mini-bar (not currently stocked), and a Bartech refrigerator.
Fun fact: Bosch owns Gaggenau.
Each suite includes a dining table. On the table are two glasses, an ice bucket, and a Vdara branded toiletry bag with a reusable mask and a travel sized bottle of Kuer hand sanitizer.
King Bed
My studio suite had a King bed with a pillowtop mattress. It was a comfortable, cozy sleep.
If you like reading in bed, you’ll appreciate the two reading lamps and accessory lights next to the bed.
Even a Vdara studio suite is large enough for a family. Because all rooms include a Queen size sofa bed.
If you need to get work done while on vacation, there’s a small work desk.
From your suite, you can order room service, make spa and salon appointments (when open), learn about the pool and the hotel using the tablet next to the bed.
A 50” flat screen TV with a media hub is across the room so you can watch TV while in bed.
Closet with extra linens, an iron, ironing board, luggage rack, and a safe.
On one of the bedside tables is a cordless phone and television remote.
Bathroom
The compact modern bathroom includes a large spa style soaking tub, one sink, ample counter space, a makeup mirror, and Portico toiletries.
The low flush toilet is across from the walk in shower.
Vdara Pool
The Vdara Pool is open seasonally from mid-March (or so) until mid-October. When closed you can use the pool at Aria.
What You Should Know
Because Vdara is a condo hotel some rooms are in nicer condition than others. My room, 25017, was a disappointment.
When your first impression is a huge stain on the entry door, you’re a little unsure what to expect when you walk into your suite.
Not only did the front door have a gigantic stain, there were also stains on the closet door.
And the bathtub wasn’t clean. Like dirty, ugly gross, there’s no way I’m getting in that tub. It was a hard to get a good photo.
I choose not to go downstairs and ask for another room. Because the bedsheets and shower appeared clean.
And those are the two most important things in the room that I cared about their cleanliness.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for a larger room for your Las Vegas trip because you’re traveling with family or friends, consider booking a room at all suite Vdara Hotel & Spa.
The hotel offers one restaurant and bar and a small relaxing pool. If you prefer more space over a big casino environment, the Vdara might hit the jackpot for you.
